What’s included in a face, feet & tail? Includes all the perks of the bath & brush plus trimming of the face, feet & tail areas.

What’s included in a full groom? Includes all the perks of the bath & brush plus trimming to the breed standard or to your specifications. Shave Downs or overall body trims on double-coated breeds that are not typically cut, may incur an additional cost.

How much will it cost? We can provide you with a breed-specific estimate; however, it is important to note that these are only guidelines.  An actual price will be determined upon evaluation of your pet. By seeing your pet, our groomers are better able to give a true assessment (size, condition of coat, temperament, what you’d like to have done, etc.). Flea & tick shampoo/set/removal has an additional charge.

How long will it take for my dog to be groomed? Approximately 2-3 hours.  However, we are most concerned with ensuring your pet is groomed to our high standards, and in some instances that may take a little longer.  We will discuss the exact timing with you when you drop your dog off. A $35 late fee will be applied for dogs left for an unreasonable amount of time. In addition to the late fee, you will be charged $35 for every half hour we have to wait for you past our closing time.

What information do you need for my dog’s first appointment?  Proof of rabies vaccine and expiration date.

Do you take walk-ins?  Our groomers work by appointment. It is very rare that a walk in could be fit in for that day. However, call for an appointment and we will do our best to get you in as soon as possible.

Will my pet be placed in a kennel?  Why? All pets are placed in a kennel while waiting to be picked up, and possibly when first dropped off.  This is for your pet’s safety as well as the safety of everyone else.  We are not a daycare facility and do not have the ability to monitor free-roaming dogs.

Why are appointment times so specific?  Can’t I just drop my dog off early/pick up late? We are not a daycare facility.  We groom by appointment only.  Grooming by specific times allow us to provide specialized attention to each of our clients and minimizes the amount of time your pet will spend in a kennel.  Think of it as you would an appointment with your own hairdresser.

What happens when you’re done grooming my dog? You will be notified approximately 15 minutes prior to your pet’s completion so that you can be in the store to pick them up as they are finished.  This will minimize the time your pet is placed in a kennel.  We understand that there will occasionally be slight delays in picking up your pet, but it can be quite stressful for your pet to wait after the grooming session is complete. Our business plan is for each dog to have their own appointment time. To spend as little time her as possible. Think about it…when we get our hair cut, we don’t stay at the salon all day, without being able to go potty.

Do you groom sedated pets?  No.  We do not groom sedated pets.  We retain the right to refuse service to any pet we feel is unable to be groomed safely whether due to aggressiveness, age or health.

My dog has just had surgery.  Can I still bring him in to be groomed? Pets with open wounds or stitches will not be groomed until they are healed properly.  This ensures safety for your pet, other pets, and our groomers.  Pets with any communicable disease cannot be groomed until a written vet’s note confirms they are no longer contagious.

What about my elderly pet? We welcome senior and special-needs pets; however, as with all of our pets, their comfort comes first and foremost.  When your pet checks in, we will discuss appropriate grooming options.  Throughout the groom, your pet’s safety and comfort take precedence over cosmetic desires.

My dog’s hair has some mats…is that a problem? Our groomer take your pet’s health and safety very seriously, and therefore will not de-mat your pet if they are badly matted.  Severe mats can cause skin irritations and hide other conditions such as hot spots, dermatitis, seborrhea, cuts, scabs, sores and redness. It is not unusual to encounter these problems when the coat is stripped from a badly matted animal and it is definitely in your pet’s best interest to address them.  We allot 15 minutes of dematting time; any pet requiring more than this amount of dematting will be clipped to avoid pain and frustration (think about trying to detangle your hair for longer than that!).  We will discuss these possibilities with you at check in, or over the phone before we clip your pet.

My dog’s mats require a shave down, what can I expect? Pets with matted coats need extra time and attention during grooming.  We use extreme care when removing a badly matted coat, but there are risks involved.  Some of those risks include nicks, cuts, or abrasions due to warts, moles, and skin trapped in the mats.  After-effects of mat removal can include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritation and failure of the hair to regrow.  Shaved pets are also more at risk of sunburn and should be protected from the sun until the hair has grown sufficiently to protect the skin.  In some cases, brief behavioral changes may be seen, but the vast majority of matted dogs show immense relief and happiness after removal of a matted coat. It is possible that the price of the visit will increase because of the time shaving.

Can I bring toys/treats for Fido? We encourage bringing items that will help pawsitively reinforce good behavior. We do not give any of the dogs store treats because of possible allergies/reactions.

What if I need to cancel an appointment? A 24 hour notice is required for cancellation of a scheduled appointment (48 hours if you are booking more than one animal).  This allows us time to try to book a replacement for your vacated appointment.  Cancellations within less than 24 hours are deemed no shows and will be subject to a $25 cancellation fee or half of the normal groom price (whichever is greater). After two (2) no shows or late cancellations, you may be required to prepay.

Can my dog get just a haircut and no bath? We want all pets to look their best…and that can only happen if we bathe and groom your dog.  Also, dogs not cleaned immediately before their styling carry some dirt and debris in their coat, causing our grooming tools to break down much more quickly.  As a result, all pets must be bathed by our groomer.

What if I’m not thrilled with my dog’s groom? We want everyone to be satisfied with their dog’s groom. If you see something that you don’t like, please let us know as soon as possible. If it is something that can be corrected, we ask that the dog comes in for the touch up within three days, where another bath will not be needed. If it is something that needs to be done differently next time, we can put it our system under the grooming notes.

We reserve the right to discontinue service due to aggressive behavior and you will be responsible for all fees incurred.
